Participate Your Company in the Harvest Parade

Midwest Old Threshers holds the annual Harvest Parade in downtown Mount Pleasant, Iowa every year on Wednesday at 3:30 PM, the day before the Reunion begins. The Harvest Day Parade serves as the official kick-off event for each year's Midwest Old Threshers Reunion.

Midwest Old Threshers Harvest Day Parade Guidelines

Theme: All entries must align with the theme of “Midwest Old Threshers.” Entries should showcase elements such as bandanas, overalls, straw, or similar features that reflect the spirit of the event.

Entry Regulations

  1. Theme Compliance: All entries must visibly incorporate the parade theme.
  2. Political Material: Distribution of political material is allowed during the parade.
  3. Signage: Companies, organizations, and politicians may display appropriate signs.
  4. Candy Distribution: Candy may be distributed along the parade route but must be done safely to avoid injuries or interference with the parade’s flow.
  5. Pacing: All entries must maintain the designated pace of the parade.

Line-Up Details

    1. Location: Line-up begins along Sheaffer Park Circle, facing north.

    2. Start Time: Line-up starts at 2:00 PM. Parade begins promptly at 3:30 PM.

    3. Line-upPLEASE don't come before 2 pm due to the local elementary school nearby that releases at 1:30, and parents lined up by Sheaffer Park to pick up their children.

    4. Access Route: Please approach Sheaffer Park via S Walnut St from the south.

    5. Space Management: Do not abandon floats or reserve spaces. All entries must move forward as directed to accommodate all participants.

    6. Saving Spots: Dropping off or saving spots at Sheaffer Park for parade floats is strictly prohibited.
